Scope and Contents

The Tom Burlin Questionnaire papers are housed in 18 boxes and arranged alphabetically by last name. They include umpires and players from the Major Leagues and Negro Leagues who were active between 1920 and 1970. There are three possible items available for each person represented: 1) a questionnaire, 2) a release form giving Mr. Burlin the right to use the information on the questionnaire in a later publication, and 3) signed envelopes. Box 18 includes miscellaneous notes and index cards to Mr. Burlin, endorsements, articles about Mr. Burlin and his collection, letters from Shriners Hospitals, players associations, and copyright applications.

Biographical / Historical

Tom Burlin started collecting baseball autographs in 1969. He was an avid collector of baseball autographs and historical information about the players and game.
