Biographical / Historical

Phil Rossi served the Boston Red Sox from 1981 to 1997, the New York Yankees from 1997 to 2000, the Cleveland Indians from 2000 to 2005, and then the Florida Marlins/Miami Marlins beginning in 2006 until 2022. Over the course of his scouting work, Rossi was instrumental in identifying and signing MLB players for his respected teams.

Rossi was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1977 and played two seasons of minor league ball, Rossi’s lasting impact on professional baseball has come overwhelmingly through his 4+ decades of dedicated scouting work, where his eye for potential and deep knowledge of the game has been his defining legacy.
